Print – Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) – Botanical Illustration – 9×12″

This botanical illustration is a graphite study on Blue Cohosh, a native plant that is considered at-risk in the WPA region, yet can still be found in areas that haven’t been developed or contaminated with alkaline-rich soil products or road salt. It likes it’s solitude and has a rich, native American history being used for centuries for women’s reproductive health. It is quite elusive, listed as threatened in many parts of the United States. It thrives in shaded, loamy woodland slopes, spreads both by a rhizome root system and meticulously germinated seeds.

100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item (less tax and shipping costs) will go to the ACLU in Western Pennsylvania to support women’s reproductive rights.
