Soap – Bike Face – Charcoal Soap – ADVANCED – 5 oz

This cold-process soap bar cleanses delicate facial skin of the active cyclist who encounters a unique combination of environmental pollution, sweat, oil and dirt. Detoxifying activated charcoal and tea tree oil draw out pore-clogging bacteria and refine pores, while tamanu oil restores elasticity and moisture to wind-chapped skin. There is also a gentle, skin calming essential oil formula which you can use as frequently as your daily rides. Using all plant-based ingredients, this bar moisturizes, lathers and leaves no residue – also great for shaving!

*All bars have knobby tire tread surface on top, but each bar is in a different spot of the loaf mold and the classic red sidewalls vary quite a bit!  Hint: the mold was made with a 90s cross country mountain bike race tire.

This recipe was inspired in response to the 1895 article in Literary Digest (Picture courtesy of Google Digest):
“In 1890s Europe and America, bicycles were seen by many as an instrument of feminism: they gave women a measure of increased mobility, began to redefine Victorian ideas about femininity, and were eagerly taken up by many women active in the suffrage movement. Bikes helped stoke dress reform movements, which aimed to reduce Victorian restrictions on clothes and undergarments so women could wear clothes that allowed them to engage in physical activities.” from:

Hand cut bars approximately weigh 5 oz, measure 3 x 2 x 1.25″ and are wrapped in biodegradable paper with plant-based adhesive.
